Public Awareness Campaign

#Herrights is a public campaign to inform and promote women’s rights in Canada. The primary obstacle with the campaign, is the perceived sense of equal rights between men and women in Canada, which is a very liberal society.
The campaign has to effectively communicate this in a country were the common belief is that there is no issue with equal rights. The combined images and slogans highlight the ways women are objectified in a patriarchal society. The intention of the bright colours is to catch the people’s attention.
The message of this campaign is conveyed in explicit and implicit ways. The vivid symbolic representation aids in interpreting the ideas behind this campaign. However, excessive explicitness may evoke discomfort among certain groups of people who believe that women already have equal rights. Hence implicit expression can arouse additional intellectual curiosity without causing controversy.
